Autologous Platelet Rich Plasma Rejuvenation – A-PRP
Autologous Platelet Rich Plasma injections rely on a technique that is both simple and safe, using regenerating and healing properties of platelets. Platelets have the ability to locally release growth factors, small molecules that act as messengers to initiate the process of skin regeneration. Prepared from your own blood, it is a natural product with minimal risk of rejections or allergic reactions.

The natural aging of your skin is due to an imbalance between the rate of destruction and renewal of cells and collagen. By promoting the process of natural tissue regeneration, mesotherapy injections of A-PRP improve skin quality and can smooth fine lines of the face, décolleté, and hands.
The eye area is a particularly fragile region that may appear a bluish coloration due to a microcirculation disorder, sometime associated with a darker area under the lower eyelid. Growth factors present in A-PRP stimulate the microcirculation around your eye, its brightness is improved, and the skin around the eyes recovers its tone.
Localized treatment by injecting a gel preparation of A-PRP restores harmony and proportion to the volume of the face.
A-PRP injections are also an effective treatment of stretch marks, acne marks, or hypertrophic scars.
A-PRP injections in the scalp stimulate bulb cells at base of the hair and the surrounding microcirculation. Vitality, colour, and brightness of your hair are enhanced; hair loss is slowed and its growth is activated.
Our Nurse Practitioner will complete a thorough review of your health history, perform a physical examination, discuss your treatment goals, and review potential adverse events and management strategies if such events occur. Using a small needle, we extract a small amount of your own blood, we then isolate your platelet rich plasma using a centrifuge to separate the platelets and plasma from the blood. Following this, local or topical anesthetics will be utilized to block the nerves ending to reduce pain. Your skin will then be cleansed and sterilized with Stanhexidine 2% with 4% isopropyl alcohol. Depending on location and area being treated injection may be completed by the use of serial microinjections with an ultra fine needle and/or a cannula (a sterile plastic needle) to instill platelet rich plasma in the chosen area. We will then review post-procedure care.
We instruct all individuals coming in for A-PRP treatment to avoid substances that increase their risk of bleeding such as acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin), non steroidal anti-inflammatory agents such as Naproxen/Ibuprofen, excessive alcohol intake, vitamin E supplementation, and other herbal or dietary supplements that may increase risk of bleeding at least one week before treatment, provided these agents can be discontinued safely.
Results are gradual as the plasma stimulates the skins stem cells to produce more collagen, and new cells are grown to rejuvenate the skin. The new cell growth produced by A-PRP can take weeks or even months; however, results often last up to 1 to 2 years after treatment.
Results of hyaluronic dermal filler injections can typically last between 6 to 12 months depending on location and product utilized. Hence, maintaining this effect is up to you; this puts you in control.
The preparation of A-PRP must not be administered to patients with hematologic or coagulation disorders, or to patients suffering from serious diseases such as severe metabolic disorders, cancer, or any acute infections. The administration of A-PRP to pregnant or lactating women or patients suffering from autoimmune diseases is not recommended.
Swelling and redness of the treated areas is common, although this usually occurs for only 24 hours. Some bruising is also to be expected and although this can be covered with makeup after the initial 24-hour period, it may take 1-2 weeks to clear completely. Please contact us immediately if you experience increased pain or unforeseeable swelling after your treatment.
