Sculptra® is a biocompatible and biodegradable injectable material that naturally stimulates the body to produce its own collagen. The base product, poly-L-lactic acid, is derived from fruit acids, and is a chemical compound that naturally occurs in the body.
Sculptra® is injected as micro-particles to stimulate collagen production. This increases the skin thickness, adds volume, and restores shape and fullness in treated areas. The results are gradual and long lasting.
We will complete a thorough review of your health history, perform a physical examination, discuss your treatment goals, and provide in-depth education about the procedure and medication. When ready to proceed, using a very fine needle, we make a series of injections which typically feel like a small pinch.
The Sculptra® collagen stimulation process occurs over 3 to 6 months. You may repeat the Sculptra® treatment every 2 months until the desired result is achieved. Once you have the volume you desire, we recommend that you have a single touch-up treatment every 1 to 2 years to maintain results
Results will vary from person to person, however results can last upwards of 3 to 5 years.
We highly recommend massaging the treated areas for 5 minutes, 5 times a day for 5 days to avoid any lumps.
Sculptra® is not recommended for use in pregnant or lactating women, as well as anyone who has had an allergic reaction to the drug or any of its active ingredients.
